Hi! My name is Michelle Khounnoraj and go by Mish, Mich or simply Michelle. I consider myself a life long STUDENT and am always learning about the human body and the musculoskeletal system to help educate myself and people like you! I have been practicing as a Registered Massage Therapist since 2016 and am a graduate of Robertson College. I genuinely love to help anyone in need and strive to provide the best care to those who come my way.
After tearing my ACL, I fell into the hands of a massage therapist and saw how manual therapy helped me get back to my feet and on the field. It has been a journey that has made me into the therapist I am today; helping to heal as many as I can with my head, my hands and my heart.
I specialize in deep specific treatments while also honing my skills in stress relieving and relaxation massage treatments. I am certified in using the Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) which allows me to perform tissue-specific treatments not possible with my hands. I have also taken courses with the Exercise Therapy Association to further my knowledge in functional assessment and movement.
I’d like to share with you the skills that I have acquired and continue to acquire. Whether you are an athlete or someone who simply wants to reclaim their body, you will be given a customized treatment plan to address your individual concerns - treat people, not injuries.
It will be a journey we’re in together!

Since graduating from physiotherapy in 2002, my job has taken me all over the world. It is because of this that I have grown professionally and personally, made life long connections, and had truly unique experiences that have shaped me in ways I would have never imagined.
From treating rugby players and rock climbers in New Zealand, to the less fortunate in a small Catholic hospital in St Lucia, West Indies, to learning the intricacies of the American health care system in Idaho, discovering what motivates healthy individuals, and oppositely how pain and dysfunction manifest in the body is what makes this job both challenging and invigorating on a daily basis.
My experiencing in working in over 12 different private clinics and facilities has allowed me to bring a little piece of good from each of them in helping to shape STRIVE in becoming a unique treatment facility. 1 on 1 treatment sessions, full 30 minute follow up sessions, state of the art therapy and rehab equipment in a 8800 sq foot facility, regular contining education from world class medical, therapy and fitness profressionals, and a staff that is never satisfied with status quo. Striving daily to offer the most individualized service possible is our mission at STRIVE.
Outside of work, I enjoy golfing and playing ultimate frisbee, as well as spending time with the family at the lake.

History:
Since I was young I have always loved sports and movement. I’ve always been drawn to sports like soccer, volleyball, rugby, and ultimate frisbee. Sports are one of my favourite ways of meeting new people and forming connections. My passion for movement and meeting new people led me to pursue physiotherapy where I could make an impact on people’s lives by helping them move and feel their best.
Current:
I am now working at Strive Fitness and Therapy, which is the perfect facility for helping you move and feel your best. I am excited to work with clients of all ages and skill levels in a 1 on 1 treatment style. In our session, we will work collaborative to create the best treatment plan that suits your needs and getting you back to doing what you love.
My style of assessing and treatment searches for the root cause of your aches and pains so that you don’t need to continue coming back for the same issue. On top of that I strive to empower my patients so they can take control of their aches and pains.
Outside of the clinic, I am an avid cook trying to perfect my craft. If I’m not doing that then I am likely outside going on a hike, camping, playing disc golf, or walking my dog.
Quirks:
Likes: Cooking, volleyball, a good cup of coffee, travelling, and hiking.
Dislikes: Being stuck in traffic, being deprived of coffee, mosquitos, and the smell of burnt toast
